A well-known figure in Bangladesh’s civil society, **Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar** is an economist, political analyst, local government expert, and development practitioner. In his professional career, he has served as the Country Director and Global Vice President of **The Hunger Project**. To the general public, however, he is perhaps best known through **SHUJAN—Citizens for Good Governance (Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik)**, the civic organization he founded. He serves as the founding secretary of SHUJAN. He is also the founding president of the **National Girl Child Advocacy Forum**. Dr. Majumdar has authored several books on a wide range of subjects, including democracy, politics, good governance, the caretaker government system, local government, constitutional issues, and political and institutional reforms.
